Fair is Fair
With changes in the economy and cost of health we are often faced with changes financially. Whether you are the paying spouse or receiving spouse it is important for people to know child support is modifiable. Changes in work or living situation can lead to a need to modify child support, either upwards or downwards. I have seen clients struggle to make ends meet when their child's medical bills increase and child support is not enough, however I have also seen ex spouses to embarrassed to ask for a modification despite a major change in their business. They too struggle to make ends meet. If you and your ex spouse can agree on an amount you can either make a written agreement. If an agreement cannot be made you can ask for the help of the court. Either way remember at the end of the day it is about what is fair not a windfall. http://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/change-child-support-order-29956.html
