Financial Bullying in Court
In the highly publicized case, Bethany Frankel and her ex-husband Jason Hoppy are entangled in what is turning out to be a nasty child custody battle complete with name-calling and tears. Ms. Frankel, who has a lucrative career in television work, books, and not to mention liquor line she recently sold, has the deep pockets to continue to pay her attorneys as long as she needs. On the other hand Mr. Hoppy, who has worked as a part time personal trainer, likely had a difficult time to putting together the funds to keep in the custody dispute. Apparently, Mr. Hoppy knew it was time to ask for help and got funding for his divorce. Whether male or female divorce funding can help keep things fair, in what would otherwise be a one-sided battle.
