Father's Fight

Years ago when it came to divorce, fathers were more often then not given custody of the children (if they wanted them.) Then the presumption turned to the mothers. Today it is the best interest of the child that is the standard used for granting custody. Even a few years ago mother's were more often granted custody of the children, awarded alimony and some child support. Father's were generally granted little time with the children. Now, thanks to some men, father's rights are getting a stronger voice . Equally time with the children and each spouse is becoming more popular. However, there is one exception, non married couples that are fighting over children. Father's of children born out of wedlock have an uphill battle when it comes to child custody.
